TL Add standards and one-time standards to groups Standards Power Standard Can keep power standards within their curricular area Doesn’t require a separate group Aligned Assessment Links a test to a standard System Administration>Assessment>Tests

TL Activate Standards  Path: System Administration > Resources > Resources > School Standards tab Standards

TL Create Grading Scale  Path: System Administration > Grading & Standards > Grading Scales  Calculates student score on assignments attached to standard by teacher – If given rights, teachers may create grading scale(s) for task-based assignments  Path: Instruction > Admin > Grading Scales – Teachers cannot create grading scales for standards-based assignments Courses “Passing” checkbox determines cut level for color-coding in teacher’s Grade Book

TL Create Course  Path: Scheduling > Courses > Add course Tip: Align standards to homeroom courses in elementary schools Course Name homeroom courses by number and name that signifies grade level Check the homeroom checkbox so the homeroom teacher’s name appears on the report card

TL Credit Group  Path: Grading & Standards > Credit Groups  If grading tasks are to appear on a standards based report card, at least one credit group must be created and activated  Option 1 – Create a parent group called “Elementary School Credits” – A child group called “Elementary Standards”  Option 2: Create a parent group called “Elementary School Credits” – Groups underneath it by subject matter (i.e. Math, Reading, Phy Ed)  Option 3: Create a parent group called “Elementary School Credits” – One child group called “Term Standards”  Term could be “Quarter”, “Semester”, or any other term choice Course

TL Align standards to course  Path: Scheduling > Courses > Standards tab Course Tip: One-time standards will have a term mask set for all terms. The active mask is checked either on the course tab or by using the Grading Window when the district determines that this standard will be assessed.

TL Multiple ways for teachers to score standards  Campus Grade Book – After standards-based groups and assignments are setup in the Lesson Planner – Permits a body of evidence to be maintained – Automates frequent, real-time, detailed communication with parents  Grading by Task – Allows rapid entry of scores for a standard for all students in a section – No evidence – No communication with parents  Grading by Students – Allows rapid entry of scores for a student for all standards in a section –No evidence –No communication with parents Scoring

TL Standards in Lesson Planner  Path: Instruction > Lesson Planner Scoring – Campus Grade Book White pieces of paper represent standard tasks assigned to course Teachers may add groups and assignments to tasks Collect evidence Communicate with parents

TL Standards in the Lesson Planner  Path: Instruction > Lesson Planner Scoring Standard Group Assignment Course #Section #Course name Standard (term followed by standard name)

TL Grading by Task  Path: Instruction > Grading by Task  Method allows rapid scoring of a standard for entire section Scoring Tip: If canned comments are enabled, teacher will see paper and pencil icon to right of comment box Clicking icon brings up comments to chose from

TL Grading by Student  Path: Instruction > Grading by Student  Allows teacher to score all standards for a single student Scoring

TL Using Campus Grade Book Path: Instruction > Grade Book Scoring Post grades Right click green area Select standard Teachers may not add comments to report card in Grade Book Comments are available in Grading by Task
