Christianity How do people welcome a baby in a Christian family? What is Baptism? Baptism is a sign of welcoming into the church family.

Welcoming a Muslim Baby!

Muslim Parents Muslim parents bring their children up to be Muslims. Muslins believe that baby’s are born innocent and pure.

God is Great! The first sound to reach a baby's ear should be that ‘God is Great.’ Allahu Akbar!

The Adhan When the baby is born first the baby is cleaned and dressed. Next the baby’s father say some special prayer Adhan in the right ear and Iqamah in the left ear.

Tahneek When the baby is given something sweet to taste. It is called Tahneek.

Aqeeqa Party On the 7 th day after birth the Aqeeqa ceremony takes place. The baby is officially given a good name The head of the baby is shaved The hair is weighed. The same weight of gold or silver is given away to charity.

Aqeeqa Party Some people take a present for the baby. Some people give some money in an envelope.
