A Muslim’s core belief The Al – Fatihah

Objectives: - To know some of the core beliefs in Islam. - To know how influential these beliefs may be. Outcome: -To begin to understand the nature of belief about Allah. -To be able to apply the core beliefs.

What is your core belief CL7jU&feature=relatedhttp:// CL7jU&feature=related This is this mans core belief, helps him make it through the day, what would yours be?

The Al- Fatihah al-fatihah/ 001-al-fatihah/ Watch the above clip – this is the statement of faith, in Arabic. Use the text book to jot down the main points of the Al – Fatihah.

The Straight way Muslims see their religion as a path that must be followed, and always taking the straight path! It is a whole way of life and affects everything they do. Look at the example of Abdul Hakeem Olajuwon to help, he played basketball for the Rockets in Houston, and earned up to £12 million a year. “This is GOD GIVEN”.

Application So how does this statement of faith, affect a Muslims everyday life? 1.Having posters of David Beckham on the wall, and hero worshipping him. 2.A company is considering building their business on a beautiful area of greenery. 3.Finding exam papers on a teachers desk. 4.Making a mistake, e.g. copping off with a mates boyfriend, then feeling bad about it. 5.Not being sure on what to do in a situation, you know someone is taking drugs. Using the Al-Fatihah what would a Muslim do in each situation, and how would the beliefs help?

In conclusion Why do you think a belief in God was important to Hekeem the dream? What is Kanye West saying about the importance of God in his life? How influential do you think a belief in God is to some people?
