Swiss Economy on the Rise

US Stocks Switzerland stocks have been rising from US manufacturing data The Swiss Market Index, a measure of the largest and most actively traded companies, rose 1 percent to 6, Swiss stocks extended gains after the ISM’s U.S. manufacturing index rose to 53.4 in March from 52.4 a month earlier.

US Stocks Swiss manufacturing output expanded for the first time in seven months in March, adding to signs the economy is stabilizing. Novartis AG added 1.8 percent after an experimental treatment for smoker’s cough met the main goal in three trials.

Swiss Stocks Rise Swiss stocks climbed, extending a nine-month high, after the International Monetary Vontobel Holding AG, the Swiss bank that specializes in derivatives, advanced 1.5 percent.

Swiss Bank Switzerland’s central bank maintained the Swiss currency’s ceiling at 1.20 francs per euro Clariant increased 3.5 percent to Swiss francs as a gauge of European chemical companies advanced. Temenos jumped 5 percent to francs after the banking.

Swiss Bank Software maker predicted revenue of $450 million to $500 million. The Swiss National Bank also kept its benchmark interest rate at zero. The Swiss government raised its economic growth forecast for this year and said the country will not enter a recession.
