Man versus Society (The “Underdog”) Directions: for this project you will choose two books. Using this worksheet packet you will apply the theme, Underdog/Man versus Society, to both books together. You will create a power point presentation in which you explore: how the books combined to address the theme of the assignment. relevance of the books to the time period they were written in. (Late 1930’s to 1960’s, Great Depression, WWII, Cold War, the “60’s”) relevance of the books to our society today. Your final PowerPoint presentation should include: 1. a thesis/introductory slide slides addressing the application of theme to the novels. 3. Each of these slides should have a direct quote from 1 of the novels (at least 2 quotes from each novel necessary) slides addressing the application of the time period/setting to the importance of the novels. 5. Each slide should have 2-3 important factual applications with relevant connections to be made slides addressing application of the novels to society today. 7. Each of these slides should have one quote from one of the novels, (one quote from each novel necessary.) 8. 50% of slides should include a relevant photo.
