Niagara falls

Niagara Falls are a group of three waterfalls (The Horseshoe Falls, The American Falls and The Bridal Veil Falls) situated in the east of North America, on the border between Canada and the United States.

History : They are not particularly high, Niagara Falls are very wide. They are the most powerful falls of North America. Niagara Falls, appeared approximately Thirty thousand- Fifty thousand years ago ( – ). The falls fall of a fifty two meter ( 21 m ). The widest, Canadian falls, have a length about seven hundred ninety two meters ( 792 m), while the American falls are only wide of three hundred and twenty three meters ( 323 ). Around the falls an immense park of hectares One thousand seven hundred twenty ( 1720 hectares ) was create.

Exploits: - July 25 th one thousand nine hundred eleven (1911): bobby Leach lowers the falls in a barrel. - In October one thousand eight hundred twenty nine (1829): Sam Patch, survived of a jump in the horseshoe fall. - In One thousand nine hundred one (1901): Annie Edson Taylor was the first person to lower falls in barrel. - In One thousand eight hundred fifty nine (1859) : the successful passage of the tightrope walker Jean- François Blondin Gravelet over the falls. - June 15 th two thousand twelve (2012) : the tightrope walker Nik Wallenda crossed the fall of the Horseshoe on a wire cable. The descent of the falls being illegal on both sides of the border, the survivors of such waterfalls are generally pursued before the courts and subjected to strong fines.
