Informal Meetups & Seminars MeetUp groups in Coeur d’Alene/Post Falls/Liberty Lake/Spokane Valley/Spokane:  Groups continuing to meet: Spokane Python User Group, Spokane Mobile App Developers, Spokane Front-end Meetup, Spokane Startup Marketing Meetup, CDA Web App Workshop New independent coding group forming in Coeur d’Alene, with Innovation Collective:  Schedule not yet determined, see for updates

Professional Education / Certification Coming soon from University of Idaho:  In partnership with ISC2 to offer CISSP and certification preparation  In partnership with local businesses, will offer Cisco CCNP Security certification preparation series with staffed lab component  Proposal to Idaho Department of Labor for certification and on-the-job training options  Working with Idaho Technology Council and Idaho Digital Learning Academy (IDLA) to bring Code.org curriculum to K-12 students statewide. Teacher training begins this summer

Youth Initiatives Get involved & promote technology careers  Hour of Code held December 11 at Gizmo in Coeur d’Alene  STEM Week held during National Engineer week Feb in north Idaho. Seven companies and over 90 students toured facilities and learned how to prepare for careers  University of Idaho Dig’nIT Program (need internships for summer 2015) Summer camps for middle and high school students and internship programs for high school and college students.  PTech Network High schools, colleges, and employers working together for youth tech careers:  Need input from NIITPA members

Internship Programs  University of Idaho  North Idaho College  Washington State University  Eastern Washington University  Gonzaga University  Whitworth College  Spokane Community College  Spokane Falls Community College  ITT Technical Institute Local companies participating in STEM Week program with the University of Idaho are interested in starting high school and college internship programs.
