Income testing in Home Care Consumers may be asked to pay a basic fee Some consumers may also be asked to pay an income- tested care fee. A fee estimator is available on the My Aged Care Website

Home Care - Safeguards Grandparenting Arrangements Caps on the amount of income tested fees Full pensioners will not pay any income tested fees Part pensioners pay up to $5, (per annum) Self-funded retirees pay up to $10, (per annum) Financial Hardship Assistance

Means Testing in Residential Care Combined income and assets test conducted by DHS Determines the fees and therefore the Commonwealth Subsidy paid for each resident Fee estimator available on the My Aged Care Website

The 2015 aged care changes Greater consumer choice and control through Consumer Directed Care (CDC) for Home Care Package Services

Home Care Packages and Consumer Directed Care (CDC) On 1 August Introduced Home Care Packages Programme From 1 July 2015, all Home Care Packages will be offered on a CDC basis. Funding is increasing for the Home Care Packages Programme – $1.3 billion to $1.5 billion

Making CDC work for you Consumers will have more choice and flexibility than they would have from existing care approaches. Aged care providers will be working collaboratively with clients.

Home Care Today is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

Home and Community Care (HACC) Services HACC provides basic support and maintenance for people still living at home. Services may include: Domestic Assistance Personal Care Meals on Wheels Support for Carers Restorative Care

HACC Fees and Contact Details HACC clients contribute to the cost of support services People receiving HACC services protected by a ‘Fees Cap’ Contact the Regional Assessment Service on

Where to next for aged care? As we look to the future, the aged care system will be guided by a number of fundamental principles including: a clear focus on consumer choice; support for informal carers; ensuring formal aged care is contestable and responsive; and ensuring the system is sustainable and affordable for all.
