August 2008 Welcome to Student DARS Web! (Degree Audit Reporting System )

Table of Contents The Interactive DARS will allow you to view: Courses Click Here Audits Click Here Planned Courses Click Here

View Courses To view your completed courses select “Courses” from the top menu bar and select “View Courses”

View Courses The “Year Term” refers to the year and semester your course was completed. YYYY36=Fall, YYYY03=Spring, YYYY20=Summer I, YYYY26=Summer II. For example, a “Year Term” of is Fall semester in 2006.

View Courses “R-title” represents the former institutions you attended. Required Course Indicator (“RCI”) are courses that fulfill Core/GenEd requirements.

View Courses In order to view your courses from your former institution(s) use the drop down menu next to “Institutions”.

View Audit To view your degree audits select “Audit” from the top menu bar and select “View Audit”

View Audit The audit function allows you to view your completed and unfulfilled requirements for your selected major(s). A list of audits will appear. The most current audit will always be displayed at the top of the list.

Request New Audit Why “Request a New Audit”? Because changes will occur throughout your academic year/semester(s), “Request New Audit” displays your most current student’s data in the report. For example, when you “Request a New Audit,” current live data will display a grade change, a major change, transfer credits added, etc. To request a new audit select “Audits” from the top menu bar then select “Request New Audit,” before selecting “Submit a New Audit.

Request New Audit After you select “Submit a New Audit” a list of current audits will be displayed. To open your interactive audit select “Open Audit”. Note: Business majors with a second degree program in business will receive two audits. It is important to wait for both audits to display under “Webtitle”. For example, two audits will appear if a Real Estate major has a second degree program in Accounting.

Understanding Your Audit Once you select “Open Audit” your interactive audit will appear within another window. You are able to look at your overall GPA, and select “Core/GenEd” or “Major” for further details. Green meaning completed courses and Pink meaning unfulfilled courses. Your interactive audit shows you a list of completed and unfulfilled requirements through texts and graphs. “Open Audit”

Understanding Your Audit Near the top right corner of your interactive audit select “View Course History” to display a list of courses (such as transferable, registered, and completed courses) under “Course Summary”. “Course Summary” features allows you to select different sorting options (by term, course, hours, grade and title) and print your course history with the “Printer Friendly” option ( eliminating graphs and “Planned Courses” tab). NOTE: Old course numbers will be replaced with new course numbers. For example, Math 0045 (old course number) will appear as Math 1001 (new course number). If you have any questions about the renumbered courses, go to

Planned Courses Why add “Planned Courses”? This feature allows you to create "what-if"/ planned courses and see what effect it would have on your degree program completion. Once “Planned Courses” are chosen your degree audit will display how it will satisfy your requirements and sub-requirements. To view your planned courses select “Planned Courses” from the top menu bar and select “View Planned Courses”.

Planned Courses (Option # 1) 1) To add a planned course select “Planned Courses” from the top menu bar and select “Add Planned Courses”. 2) After selecting a Semester, Course and/or adding a Memo, select “Save/Add.”

Edit Planned Courses To edit a “Planned Course,” select the desired class under “Course Number.” Select “Save/Edit” after editing your “Planned” course.

Planned Courses (Option #2) 1) You can also add a planned course in the interactive audit by selecting a course (preferably a required class) displayed within your course list. 2) Then select “Yes”

Planned Courses 3) After you select “Yes,” an on-line “Course Description” will appear. Scroll down and select the department that the course is under 4) In this example select “Mathematics.”

Planned Courses 5) Make sure you check for prerequisite, credits, and availability. 6) Select “Add”

Planned Courses (Option #3) 1) A final way to add a planned course is by selecting “Add a Course…” within your interactive audit. 2) Select a class for future references (next semester).

Planned Courses 3) Select “Submit Addition.” 4) Under “Planned Courses” select “Go” after checking your list.

Review Planned Courses To review your list of planned courses, select “View Planned Courses.” List of Planned Courses.

Planned Courses To Delete your “Planned Courses,” select the check box (to the right) and select “Delete Courses” (displayed on the top and bottom of your degree audit). IMPORTANT NOTE: You will not automatically be registered for the “Planned Courses” you selected for the semester(s).

Planned Courses (Request New Audit) In order to see your “Planned Courses” throughout the interactive audit, select “Request New Audit,” and click “Include Planned Courses” before selecting “Submit a New Audit”.
