Skilled Worker Stream Criteria Skilled Occupations (NOC O, A, B): Main focus is on these occupations Permanent, full-time job offer from NS employer Age 21 to 55 Canadian high school equivalency of 12 years Related work experience of 12 months or 1,560 hours within the last 5 years English or French language ability to a CLB Level 5 (mandatory testing on case-by-case basis) Financial resources and settlement supports

Skilled Worker Stream Criteria (continued) Semi-skilled and Low-skilled Occupations (NOC C and D) Considered on a case-by-case basis Permanent, full-time job offer from established NS employer Age 21 to 55 Canadian high school equivalency of 12 years -English or French language ability to a CLB Level 4 (mandartory language testing)

Skilled Worker Stream Criteria (continued) Related work experience of 12 months or 1,560 hours within the last 5 years, 6 months of which must be with the NS employer supporting the application Applicants with a federal post-graduation work permit where occupations fall under NOC D are not eligible to apply (see ‘when not to apply’ in Skilled Worker Stream Application Guidelines)

Application Process *Always review Skilled Worker Stream Application Guidelines, specifically under ‘when not to apply’ on page 10 before applying* Two Stage Process: Step 1: Apply to Nova Scotia Nominee Program Meet eligibility requirements Prepare and submit complete application package Processing within 3 months or more

Application Process (continued) Step 2: Apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as Provincial Nominee Meet admissibility requirements Submit federal application and certificate of nomination to CIC – Central Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia CIC has final say in awarding permanent residency
