DAIRY & SCHOOL NUTRITION  Milk provides 9 essential nutrients  Calcium, potassium, phosphorus, protein, Vitamins A, D and B12, riboflavin and niacin  Provides 3 of the 4 that American diets lack  Calcium, Potassium and Vitamin D  Low-fat and fat free milk is a core component of school meals  Dairy farmers and companies have reduced fat, calories and added sugars in flavored milk offered in schools  In the past 5 years sugars have been reduced 38%  Chocolate milk= only 3% of all added sugars in children's diets versus sodas and fruit drinks 45%
