 One of Miami-Dade County’s preeminent federally qualified community healthcare center.  Mission: To provide comprehensive primary health care services by increasing access and improving the quality of life of our diverse South Florida community.  (2011) totaled approximately 120,000 medical, dental and behavioral health patient encounters.  25 school based clinics  6 comprehensive primary care sites.

 Increase the percentage of Cervical Cancer Screenings of HIV+ female clients at JTCHC by ensuring that each receives a yearly Pap Smear  For the year 2013 the goal is 70%  2007 – Pap Smear Testing rate was 42%  JTCHC believes that early screening and detection is the only way to prevent the occurrence of the disease and limit the resulting complications

 Multidisciplinary Team Approach  2009-A specific pap smear clinic HIV+ females  Utilized ARNPs & OB/GYN clinic for easier accessibility any day of the week  Clients who came for others services, were able to be seen on as a walk-in to receive their annual pap smear screen.  On clinic days, if screening is identified as a need, client can be immediately referred to Pap Clinic

 Data collection and chart review integral part of identifying clients’ need for a Pap Smear  Providing Information/Education to female clients about cervical cancer increases their knowledge and interest in getting screened  Providers are not proactive in promoting and ordering cervical cancer screening for the female clients  A holistic approach was effective in increasing the compliance rate from 42% in 2007 to 69% YTD.

 JTCHC will continue to promote health improvement for patients.  Cervical Cancer Screening is ongoing and the center is striving for the highest Pap Smear test compliance rate.  Resulting in the overall health benefit for the patients, such as early detection.
