Good readers always think as they read. Sometimes, the story or text reminds the reader of something that happened to them.

Sharing Connections  Thinking Aloud with Partner  Knee to knee with partner  Think about things you could not do before that you can do now.

Text to Self Connections Encourage children to talk about some new skills they are working to master. Ask them to describe how they will go about learning these skills Have children describe how they feel when they accomplish their goals
