MILLIONS WHO LIVE ABOVE THE POVERTY LINE CANNOT AFFORD HEALTH CARE, FOOD, TRANSPORTATION, AND OTHER BASIC EXPENSES. OFFICIAL POVERTY LINES ARE THUS SET TOO LOW: $10,400 FOR A SINGLE PERSON, $21,200 FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR.

NOTE: IF ONE EARNED A SELF- SUFFICIENCY WAGE IN BROWN COUNTY ($12.89 PER HOUR), S/HE WOULD EARN $26,811 ANNUALLY: THAT IS, $5,611 OVER THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINE
