Social Action Plan Objectives: The main aim of the project in to enable student to identify and raise awareness about the autism and inculcate love, affection and care for disable and that disability is not inability and these children should get the equal opportunity for learning and development.

Society needs people who care……. For the implementation of our social action plan. A trip has been arranged for the students of The City School Junior Gulshan Campus to the center of Autism, which has established for autistic children by the courageous and trained group of mothers whose own kids are facing these mental disorder.

What is Autism. The information which has gained from Director of the center Ms Rohi Maroof, regarding autism, it’s an information processing brain disorder which impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. The causes of autism is still unknown and there is no care and medical test, which can detect autism before the birth. Autistic children need love, care, support and acceptance of society to lead a normal life.

Salient Features of center of Autism (CFA) It’s a place where these children receive lots of love, care and support. This center is fully equipped with trained teachers and all kind of teaching and learning materials like white board, charts, posters, sensory books and other items which help the children learning and communication. Special training has also been provided to the mothers which will help them in dealing their autistic child.

Implementation of the Social Action Plan The classes have also been observed, where children were involved in leaning counting, vocabulary and were also singing poems. Their enthusiasm, interest and the behavior was amazing. Heads off to their supportive teachers.

There has a fun filled party been arranged, in which these children showcase their talents. Our students also enjoyed a lot and sung song with them. Gifts of kindness which includes sensory books, electrical toys, CD and DVD songs, light and sounds equipment etc has also been disturbed among each child. Our students also received thank you cards, made by these children. After having refreshment, we said good bye. This trip has become the most memorable and heart warming event of our lives.

Learning Outcomes: After the implementation of this project our students has not only gained self confidence and self esteem but also improved their social and communication skills and enhanced their skills of team work. Students put cognitive and affective aspects of experience into the larger context of self, the community and the world. Our students recognize how participation and the ability to respond to authentic need improves the quality of life in the community.
