Belief and Science What will this unit involve?

Belief and Science In a nutshell, this unit is about exploring the relationship between Christianity and Science. We have a slight head start as we have already studied Christianity. We will explore the relationship between the two world views and study the different opinions people hold.

Area 1: Sources of Human Understanding Area 2: What is the Origin of the Universe? Area 3: What is the Origin of Human Life?

Area 1: Sources of Human Understanding Area 1 is a study of Christian Revelation and Scientific Enquiry. It gives us the foundations to understand the two perspectives which is necessary before we go deeper in

Area 2: What is the Origin of the Universe? Area 2 involves a study of the different views about how the world got here. Was the universe created by God or did it happen with the Big Bang? Are the different views in conflict? Can they be compatible? We will also study the different views that people have on these questions

Area 3: What is the Origin of Human Life? Area 3 involves specifically looking at the question “what is the origin of human life?” We will look at the scientific view and the Christian view We will ask the questions: Is there a conflict? Are they compatible? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each interpretation?
