CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD (CMM)

Cervical Mucus Method or CMM is the observation of wet and dry sensations in the vulva. The feeling of wetness and the presence of mucus secretion which is wet, slippery and clear indicate a fertile period. fertile period.

CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD (CMM) The feeling of dryness and having no secretion or the presence of pasty, non- stretchy mucus or unchanging mucus pattern a day after menstruation indicate the non-fertile period.

CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD (CMM) This method requires the client to observe what she feels and sees and record her observations daily in chart.

CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD (CMM) Early Day Rule : 1.Avoid sex on days of heavy menstruation. 2.Alternate evenings are available for intercourse when these days have been recognized as infertile (BIP). 3.Avoid sex on days of discharge or bleeding which interrupts the BIP.

For dry days following menstruation, advise client to have sexual intercourse on alternate evenings only.
