How to support a shaft? The motor just turns the shaft. It doesn’t provide any support.

What are the loadings on the shaft? Is the shaft mounted vertical or horizontal? Is the motor turning a drive screw? How do you provide radial and vertical support? Bushings Thrust bushings Radial load bushings Bearings Radial ball bearings Angular contact ball bearings Roller bearings Selection is based on combination of load and number of revolutions for bearing life.
