"Eating disorder" is when a person eats, or refuses to eat, in order to satisfy a psychic need and not a physical need. The person doesn't listen to bodily signals or perhaps is not even aware of them.
Loosing a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Wearing big or baggy clothes or dressing in layers to hide body shape. Not eating when hungry and starving themselves. Hiding food in strange places.
Eating disorders can be very disruptive, not only to the person struggling with the disorder, but also to friends and family members. When someone has an eating disorder, it can become easy to forget about the other important people in life.
Happiness and self-esteem come from loving yourself for who you truly are and that’s only possible with recovery. A health professional coordinate any treatment plan.
