THE BIRTH OF ATLANTIS CAME IN MANY FORMS…

Here is how it all started with a quick sketch…

It then progressed to artist renderings and scale models…

Then we found an old warehouse full of junk and emptied it. Then added on several buildings to that warehouse and presto, you have an aquarium… …if it were only that simple.

I gathered some of the youngest, brightest minds to design and build Atlantis Marine World…

Atlantis works with many schools and colleges and there is easy access to many bodies of water.

Some of the worlds best ocean beaches are within easy reach of Atlantis as well some dynamic estuaries, lakes, rivers and streams.

How to get here? Well it is New York, so getting here is not a problem, with unlimited national and international flights. Flight costs vary greatly, but regular costs from California can start as low as $210RT, $150RT from Chicago and international flights into JFK are not a problem. A quick search shows flights from London to JFK at $650RT. These were just quick searches, I’m sure cheaper flights can be found. Car rental and car services are available at all airports. Drive time from LaGuardia or JFK to Atlantis Marine World is about 1.5 hours Flights into Islip/ McArthur (30 minute drive time to AMW) tend to more limited, but major airlines like Southwest, Jet Blue, Continental fly into Islip. A ½ day trip to Mystic Marinelife Aquarium in Connecticut via the Cross Sound Ferry…

Cross Sound Ferry, which will then take us back to Rafael Vineyard on Long Island. The route from Orient Point, Long Island to Mystic.

Voted one of the 10 best water parks in the United States, and it is only 5 minutes from Atlantis Marine World.

Some of the best big game fishing anywhere in the world is right here on Long Island, as well as excellent surf casting for bluefish and striped bass…

New York City is a great place to visit and has so much to offer, and is less then a two hour train or car ride from Atlantis. If you extend your visit, it is easy to find a place to stay in Manhattan, and the LaGuardia and JFK airports are within easy reach. Atlantis Marine World
