Acts 12:4 . . . And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Easter is all about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The cross represents our Lord’s victory over sin and death. If He hadn’t risen from the grave, it would be a symbol of defeat, hopelessness, and shame. Easter is all about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Genesis 3:19 . . . By the sweat of your face you will eat bread till you return to the ground because from it, you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

That is all except One Psalm 16:10 . . . For You will not abandon my [David’s] soul to Sheol; nor will You allow Your Holy One [Jesus Christ] to undergo decay.

1 Corinthians 15:20-23 . . . But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21) For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22) For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23) But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming,

Job 14:14-15 "If a man dies, will he live again Job 14:14-15 "If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my struggle, I will wait until my change comes. 15) "You [God] will call, and I will answer You; You will long for the work of Your hands. Job 19:25-27 As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives and at the last, He will take His stand on the earth. 26) Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God; 27) Whom I my-self shall behold, And whom my eyes will see and not another.

David Psalm 17:15 . . . As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake. Isaiah 26:19 . . . Your dead will live; their corpses will rise. You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy, for your dew is as the dew of the dawn, and the earth will give birth to the departed spirits.

Daniel 12:2 . . . Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. Hebrews 11:19 . . . He [Abraham] considered that God is able to raise people even from the dead, from which he also received him [Isaac] back as a type [of God receiving believers back when they are resurrected].

Peter Acts 2:23-24 . . . this Man [Jesus Christ], delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. 24) BUT GOD raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

Paul Acts 13:29-30 . . . When they had carried out all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the cross and laid Him in a tomb. 30) But God raised Him from the dead;

Martha John 11:23-26 . . . Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." 24) Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day." 25) Jesus said to her, "I am the resur-rection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, 26) and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Sir Walter Raleigh: Written on the night before his death  “Even such is time, that takes in trust, Our youth, our joys, our all we have, And pays us but with age and dust; Who in the dark and silent grave, When we have wandered all our ways, Shuts up the story of our days, But from this earth, this grave and dust, My God shall raise me up, I trust!”

Jesus told His disciples many times that He would be crucified, buried, and rise again, but they didn’t get it. They didn’t believe it.   Matt. 12:40, 16:21, 17:22-23, 27:63 ; Mark 9:31, Luke 9:21, John 2:19-21, 1 Cor. 15:3-4

Miscellaneous Resurrection Verses: 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Philippians 3:20-21 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21 who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.   Romans 6:5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection . . .

1 John 3:2-3 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 Corinthians 15:52-57 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:12-19 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.

a resurrection body? What happens after we receive There is one question that hardly anyone asks: What happens after we receive a resurrection body?
