R: BOOK COVER Symbols:  The Plane on my book cover stands for when Hazel and Gus were on their plane ride to Amsterdam. An entire chapter of the book was on the plane ride.  The Champagne bottle on my book cover stands for when Hazel and Gus were at Oranjee, a restaurant in Amsterdam where Gus took Hazel on their first date.  The Cigarette stands for courage, and Gus always carries around a pack. Since he had Cancer, he pretend “smokes” the cigarettes to show his battle with cancer.
