Abraham Lincoln Created by: The Mermaids (Liliana, Alexa, Jesse, Laney, Lilian)

Introduction Abraham Lincoln began his journey from his early years. He has a strong and caring heart towards all. Starting off to reading borrowed books and ended in great memory. His education was a huge part of his journey. His speeches began so small and simple yet powerful. If he wasn’t for him becoming a lawyer, he wouldn’t have received his amazing gift and talent learned through education. Nor would he have won the election in the 1800s to become The President of United States. -Lilian Henrie

History Abraham Lincoln spent his entire childhood and manhood on the brink of poverty his opportunities for education were meager. Lincoln's formal schooling were limited to brief periods as he had to work to support his family. In 1830 his family moved to southern Illinois after settling in Illinois Lincoln became involved in local politics. In 1834 he won election to state legislature. Lincoln won election to the U.S House of representatives in Friends began to urge Lincoln to run for president. He held back, but did extend his range of speechmaking beyond Illinois. on Feb. 27, 1860, at Cooper Union, in New York City, he delivered an address on the need for restricting slavery that put him in the forefront of Republican leadership. On Feb. 11, 1861, Lincoln left Springfield to take up his duties as president. -Liliana Padilla

Purpose Abraham Lincoln has a lot of interests, rights and values. From reading books at the age of 9, to becoming a legend as a President at the age of 52. Lincoln worked hard with his political views, such as slavery and The Civil War. His rights and values stood strong, especially during The Civil War. Although he lost a lot of Americans, Generals, and Cabinets, he still continued his job. Which sadly, led him to his assassination. He will always be remembered for his purpose he made in America. -Lilian Henrie

Argument Abraham Lincoln’s childhood education was very limited, he learned much from books. The Lincolns did not have any books and Abraham was forced to borrow. Studying from books made it so that Lincoln was admitted to law firm. If the problem was solved or the opportunity was realized Lincoln wouldn’t have become the person he became.. Lincoln’s struggles were a motivation for working his hardest and accomplishing his goals in life. -Laney Skillings & Alexa Haws

Conclusion So in conclusion, Abraham Lincoln was successful in many ways. He may have not gotten the right education right away, but his hard work made up for it. He was and will always be a legend in America. His ways of education, and skills that he created will help set a guide to those who have and still are struggling. -Lilian Henrie
