Cancer Research Advert By Chantelle Rogers

About Cancer Research UK. They are the world’s leading charity which is dedicated to beating cancer through research. They’ve saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Their results have progressed so much that survival has doubled over the past 40 years. Every day in the UK there are more than 400 people diagnosed with cancer that will survive the disease for more than 10 years thanks to research.

Cancer Research advertisements.

Adverts that have influenced my advert. we will do whatever it takeshttps:// momentshttps://

The characteristics are that you’re helping people and to help cure cancer. This is shown in my advert because I have used obvious statistics and logos that show cancer research, this is the same as Brand identity as they will see the logo and know its cancer research. Cancer Research is one of the most famous charities so more people would be likely to donate to my charity. The USP of my advert would be that it has all of the different types of cancer research adverts, in one. I researched cancer research adverts by analysing them and seeing what’s the point in all of them.

My advert – Cancer Research UK. I will be making a TV advert for Cancer Research UK. The point of my advert is to show how much cancer means/has affected people in different ways and then to show statistics to make people donate. And i will also include moments to show how cancer makes people think. (They appreciate everything) I wanted to do a charity advert because its personal and it relates to a lot of people, especially cancer as most people have been affected by it for different reasons. I wanted to do a charity advert for Cancer Research because they provide a lot of research and you can understand all of it and also because cancer research is quite a popular charity.

Form & style The form of my advert will be a realist narrative because i’m advertising a real situation and also a stand alone series because the story is involved in one advert not throughout loads. I have chosen a stand alone series because i’m making one advert and I have chosen a realist because its a real situation as its for a charity. The style of my advert is dramatic as its a charity advert.

My idea I have made a storyboard and my ideas are that I will start off with a blue background with white writing that includes there two logos and a hash tag which says #LetsBeatCancerSooner and then their website. Then I will video about three or more people separately, and they will talk about there loved ones who have passed away from cancer, suffering or even a survivor. I will interview my friends, family and Amanda Day as she is a survivor and has agreed too. Then I will have donation and research statistics which are taken from there website. (88,243 hours all together all of them researching in their labs this week.) After that I will include statistics/their logo of Stand up to cancer. Such as “£15,585,444 pounds raised through #StandUpToCancer. I will include typography and a slogan of theirs. (cancer research)

My idea After I have included the stand up to cancer part, i will then have about 4/6 simple ‘moments’ (inspired by the moments advert) This is too show how people with cancer treat life. I will then show how people fundraise(different types) I might draw the different ways and then speed this up. (or/and include video evidence that people have/what they have done) I might include magazine stories/catalogues/leaflets too. These will be part of my Copyright letter as well as using logos and statistics from cancer research. After this, I will include statistics on surviving cancer and how its rising with peoples help. I will have this on a light blue background with a pink or white writing. I will include the stand up to cancer logo and then also three hash tags. (#LetsBeatCancerSooner #TogetherWeWill #StandUpToCancer)

Codes and conventions Camera angles i am including in my advert are depending on what ‘moments’ i video/photograph. I will try and exaggerate the meaning using camera angles. i.e I wont use boring ones for everything. This could influence the customer because I could make the scene look good. Shots – Throughout my advert I am going to try and use as many shots as possible, but not irrelevant ones. Only ones that are suitable. This could influence the customer to donate because i could exaggerate something in the advert. Editing – In my advert i will include editing of what i video. This could influence the customer to donate because i could edit something in a certain way and then the customer could really like it. Lighting – When i interview people i want the lighting to be slightly dark so i can just focus on their face with a little bit of light. This could influence the customer because it could make the scene look slightly depressing and then they would donate. Sound – I will have people talking when I interview them. This could influence the customer because of what they say. Music – The song I am using is ‘what about angels’ by birdy which is depressing but that’s the point. Also, i found this song from the movie ‘The Fault in our Stars’ which is a movie about cancer. This could influence the customer because it could make them touched and sad.

ASA- The CAP codes that are relevant to my advert would be do not exaggerate something by nature and then do not make people feel like they’re bad if they don’t donate. I will not over exaggerate cancer neither will I make people feel like they have to donate. The advertising techniques in my advert that I have included are: emotional responses, solution to a problem and concern. This is because a charity advert so it is emotional. The solution to a problem is the charity as they’re trying to find a cure for cancer. The concern technique is that you are concerned about people and cancer and so you want to help. They will influence the customer because all together they create the purpose of making people want to donate and so hopefully they will want to do that. The pre-production tasks I have started are the production schedule, crew list, copyright letter, regulations considerations, storyboard (but i need to draw another one) and also a mood board. I have 14 tasks to finish.
