Remember Who You Are! 1.Jesus conducted Himself as though the Father had said, “Son, remember who you are!” a. He pleased His Father Mk.14:36 b. He desired to do Father’s will Jn.4:34 c. Remember Who You Are! Peter pointed out the need to remember “For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my decease.” II Pet.1:12-15

Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my decease.” II Pet.1:12-15 As children of God our Heavenly Father wants us to do some remembering. God says…..

Remember To Be Faithful As children of God we have an obligation to do the will of God. Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”

Remember To Be Faithful As children of God we have an obligation to do the will of God. Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” There are several exhortations to be faithful. Matthew 10:22 Galatians 6:9 Revelation 2:10 I Cor. 15:58 Can we call ourselves children of God and not be faithful?

Remember That You Are A Debtor Paul recognized indebtedness to lost. Rom.1:14-15 Christ mission was to save the lost. Lk.19:10; I Tim. 1:15 This should also be our mission! We have a responsibility to save others. We have been saved to save others. Mk.16:15; Matt.28:19-20 Remember that we are a debtor and have an obligation to those that are lost. God is counting on us.

Remember That You Are A Christian We have been cleansed from our sin, our names are in the Lamb’s book of life, we are children of God, we are Christians. Remember we wear the name of Jesus Christ. We are called by a worthy (noble) name. James.2:7 If we remember who we are we should not: - engage in things that will tarnish the name - frequent places of questionable activities - say and do things that bring reproach on the precious name of Jesus Christ. We should be more than Christian in name.

Remember That You Are An Example We are examples. Good or Bad We should strive to be good examples. Matt. 5:16; I Peter 2:11-12; I Tim. 4:12 Remember we are examples to those around us. Our children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors, etc. They are watching whether we know it or not. We influence those closest and dearest to us. If you are not the example you should be, then you have forgotten who you are!

Remember Who You Are! As Christians we need to always remember we are God’s children and should act accordingly. It will make us better people and ensure our eternal reward. If you are not a Christian there are some things you should remember: - you are lost in sin. Isa. 59:1-2 - you will stand before God in judgment. Heb.9:27 - you are in need of salvation. Rom. 3:23 - you have salvation available through Jesus. Heb. 2:9; 5:9

Remember Who You Are! God’s plan of salvation is simple: - Hear God’s Word. Rom. 10:17 - Believe what God says. Jn.8:24 - Repent from your ways of sin. Acts 17: Confess that Jesus is the Son of God. Matt. 10:32 - Baptized (immersed in water) for the remission of sins. Acts 22:16: I Pet. 3:21 - Remain faithful to God. Rev.2:10
