ADVERB Think of it this way: Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. Think of it this way: ADVERB

Adverbs show HOW an action happens… Jason quickly read the book. Diana sincerely cares for her best friend. Louis paints his picture independently.

Adverbs describe WHEN an action happens… We are going to the ballpark today. Tomorrow the Rangers play the Yankees. They could win the World Series soon.

Adverbs describe WHERE an action happens… He put the paper here. You must turn your homework in over there. When she finished, she put the book down.

Adverbs show TO WHAT EXTENT… They were extremely happy. The team celebrated for a very long time. The game was really fun to watch.
