Food chains food chains and food webs

Your task Identify the fundamental structural features and components of an ecosystem and demonstrate how they cycle to maintain a balanced system. Provide multiple examples from varied environmental systems. Finally, be sure to identify the trophic levels and demonstrate how energy flows through the systems as well as the principle behind the energy flow.

If you’ve never failed, you’ve never tried anything new. Go to my website to start your research. Favorite your sites. Record ideas. Write down what you discover.

Task 1 Define an ecosystem and the components of an ecosystem. (producer, carnivore, herbivore, omnivore, decomposer) Describe how they maintain a balanced system.

Task 2 Define food chain and food web. Describe how they are linked. Create an aquatic and a terrestrial food chain.

Task 3 What is the energy pyramid? Describe each of the levels. Define: producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer, tertiary consumer.

Task 4 Now for the hard part. You will need to pull together all of your information and find an interesting, uniquely you way of presenting what you have learned. This may be a photostory project, a prezi, or a powerpoint. Whatever your choice, it needs to be expertly completed. I do not want to see your notes in your presentation. I have already checked those.
