INFORMATION ABOUT EXAMINATIONS AND GRADING: I will drop your lowest quiz score. If you must miss a quiz or a midterm exam, contact the instructor by telephone, or email BEFORE the quiz or exam in order to get permission to take a make up quiz or exam. Because we post answer keys for exams by Friday on the internet, we cannot let students take a late exam after Thursday of the week on which it is given. INFORMATION ABOUT EXAMINATIONS AND GRADING: The midterm exams and the quizzes are not cumulative. The final examination is cumulative. Quiz and exam questions are based on material in (i) the textbook; (ii) lectures; (iii) sections; (iv) labs. You are responsible for all of the assigned reading material even if it was not covered in lecture. You will often be asked to do a lab before you have heard a lecture or read about the relevant experiments. Do not worry about this. The labs will be graded very leniently. More Info re Grading I grade on a curve but the curve is based on the overall performance of the class, so I can’t tell you before the end of the quarter what you will need to score to get a particular grade.
