WHEN I GROW UP DREW

VETERINARIAN I am not exactly sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I think I would enjoy being a veterinarian. I love animals and I like to help out others. I think having these characteristics would be helpful in the job of a veterinarian. A veterinarian takes care of animals. They are like doctors, but for animals. They help make sure animals are healthy.

PROS AND CONS Some of the pros to being a veterinarian include: a good salary, the opportunity to help animals, and to help people feel good because you helped out their animal. One of the cons to being a veterinarian is that I would have to go to school for a very long time! To be a veterinarian requires 4 years of college and 4 years of veterinarian school.

SALARY AND STATISTICS The average salary for a veterinarian is $84,000 per year. The lower end of the salary range is $70,000 per year. The higher end of the salary range is $144,000 per year. There are about 70,300 veterinarian jobs in the U.S. right now. The future job growth for a veterinarian is 12%.

WHY DO I NEED MATH Being a veterinarian requires various math skills. One of the main uses of math for a veterinarian is figuring doses. Medication doses are determined by an animal’s weight. Veterinarians have to be able to use formulas to figure how much medicine to give to an animal based on how much it weighs.

MONTHLY BUDGET I depend on God to guide me in making decisions in my life, and I know that He already knows what He made me to do. So, my budget includes giving some of my salary to my church. My monthly budget is based off of an $84,ooo per year salary, which equals a: $7,000 monthly budget $700 tithe $700 savings $1,150 housing $350 transportation $1,050 food $1,400 utilities $350 clothing $350 personal expenses $210 entertainment $140 miscellaneous

ZERO BUDGET The budget that I just shared is a zero budget. I have no money left after paying all of my budget expenses.
