Parts of a Newspaper

What is a newspaper? A newspaper is a publication that is printed and distributed, usually daily or weekly, and contains local news, Letters to the editor, entertainment, and classified ads.

Front Page News Top priority articles are near the front (1-2 pages). These are typically of high interest to your entire audience of readers (e.g., world news, city news). Long front-page articles can be continued on an inside page to provide room for other headline news. Front page section also covers world and national news

Guided Practice Students will read two articles. One from the world section and one from the national section. Using the double bubble the students will compare and contrast the two articles with emphasis on world vs national news.

World News vs National News
