Deliverables: Development the first work by NIR transmission in pharmaceutical powder mixture A NIR transmission method for drug concentration in powder blends. Previous work has been with tablets. Comparison of transmission and diffuse reflectance measurements to evaluate powder blends. DESCRIPTION MATERIAL AND METHOD DEVELOPMENT RESULTS RESEARCH RELATION TO ERC Conclusions Future Work 1.Discuss development of future system capable of in-line transmission measurements. Table 1. NIR transmission in powder A calibration model using NIR diffuse reflectance in powder were developed with blend of APAP, MCC and lactose.(Table 1). Method development for transmission in powder using a feeder Test set 2t using a feeder (Dynamic sampling ) 1.A test set blend (400 g) of 15% APAP to challenge the calibration model was prepared. 2.Sixty aliquots were obtained from powder feeder using a tablet holder with a glass cell in the background. Comparison between transmission and diffuse reflectance measurement DR spectra were acquired with a Bruker Optics (Billerica, MA) Matrix FT-NIR spectrometer. All spectra were obtained as the powder moved at a linear velocity of 10 mm/s in a conveyor belt. Parameters: resolution 8 cm -1, sample scan NIR diffuse reflectance in powder Method development Calibration sample and Test set 1t preparation using static sampling A tablet holder with a glass cell in the background was used for the transmission measurements of powder. From g of the blend was placed in the tablet holder. Ten aliquots of each blends were evaluated.
