O VERVIEW OF EIS U NIT  The Environmental Information System (EIS) provides reference information, both geographic and thematic, which supports NEA’s technical programs.  It provides up-to-date, reliable and relevant information for decision makers.  Using a viable delivery system for environmental information, EIS involves stakeholders that are responsible for the collection and production of data.

Information System Information System Non-spatial Information Systems Spatial Information Systems Spatial Information Systems Management Information Systems Geographic Information Systems Geographic Information Systems Aerial Photograpy The EIS incorporates all types of information Documentation DF

Spatial Data  This type of data provides an insight of the physical features and the characteristics of the environment. It includes landscapes such as road networks, human settlements, rivers, vegetation, catchments and drainages.  It provides data analysis, manipulation and modelling which can all be used effectively and efficiently and these can be carried out the database Non-Spatial data  The Non-spatial data task force: Demography, resource inventories and economic surveys.  The Documentation: establishing a networking system and individual bibliographies to ensure easy access to information

 Tanbi Wetlands National Park is a mangrove swamp that fronts the Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Gambia River to the east.  The wetland is a protected area, recognized as a major tool for conserving species and ecosystem.  It is dominated by 80% different species of mangrove
