Communication System Laboratory UEE 3501: Communication System Laboratory This course provides a series of experiments with a DSP- processor-based wireless system such that you can learn how digital data are actually transmitted and received in wireless environments.

Digital communication system: RF architectures/ Impairments bits symbol transmit filtering mapper DAC Filter x Channel Modulation Estimated bits Estimated symbol + Receive filtering Noise de- mapper ADC Filter x Equalization De-modulation Digital domain Analog domain

RF module: Maxim for WiMax system In the course, you are supposed to implement some typical communication systems with a DSP-based wireless system. Plateform: Spartan 6/OMAP-138 coprocessing kid Produced by Avnet FPGA: Xilinx Spartan 6 DSP: TI 6000 CUP: ARM processor DAC/ADC module: 40MHz 12bits/10bits RF module: Maxim for WiMax system The purpose of the experiments is to let you know how a wireless communication system actually works.
