He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Once we were alienated from God and were enemies in our minds because of our evil behaviour. But now he has reconciled us by Christ's physical body through death to present us holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation– if we continue in our faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. θ From Colossians 1 In Christ Alone followed by communion

Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. You were buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. Colossians chapter 2

Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart Colossians 3 Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart Set your heart on what is right Turn from wrong Do what is right

Colossians 3 Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart 1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart Set your heart on what is right - Turn from wrong - Do what is right

12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Thank God for his Word to us Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart Set your heart on what is right - Turn from wrong - Do what is right

Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart Colossians 3 Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart Set your hearts and minds on things above You died … so put to death, rid yourselves of, take off your old self, take your mind off earthly things: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, idolatry, anger, rage, malice, slander, filthy language, lies You have been raised with Christ … so put on the new self, set your hearts & minds on things above, clothe yourselves with, in the name of the Lord Jesus: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, forgiveness, love, peace, wisdom & thankfulness Soften my heart – Lord I come – Great is the darkness Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart Set your heart on what is right - Turn from wrong - Do what is right
