 Main Line Animal Rescue is an animal shelter and care center in Chester Springs, PA for abandoned and abused dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and other small pets

 As an orange team volunteer, which was the second level of volunteering, my duties consisted of walking dogs, cleaning kennels, feeding, bathing, and cat care

 Bill Smith founded MLAR in response to the amount of puppy mills located in the surrounding areas of Chester Springs, such as Lancaster.  He is a strong advocator against the cruelty of puppy pills and puts his heart and soul into this shelter and its inhabitants

 The dogs clearly cherish any human attention given to them because of the sheltered lives they lead  Giving the animals a fresh start is the best feeling—they deserve it
