By Dylan Peterson Gender and culture Roles of the Yanomamo: a tribe of the Amazon

Yanomamo, are one of the most primitive tribes on the planet a quarter of the adult Yanomamo men die at the hands of another Yanomamo Yanomamo society is one sided in favor of masculine.

Elder woman also have unique positions in the world of inter village warfare and politics. Girl's childhood ends sooner than a boy's. The micro and macro movement of the Yanomamo villages distribute the population and the villages thinly over the landscape

most startling difference is the degree to which violence and warfare and the consequences of these distinguish highland and lowland groups from each other. Yanomamo warfare is to go on raids. The clubs used in these fights are 8 to 10 feet long.

The future of the Yanomamo is now hanging in an easily broken balance. The two most important factors in the cultural survival and future welfare of native people like the Yanomamo have to do with the land and health.
