Presentation transcript:

 As many as 300,000 people at the age of 18 and under are currently fighting in conflicts around the world. Many more have been recruited into armed forces and are usually are be sent into combat at any moment.  most child soldiers are teenagers, but some are as young as 7 years old. The armies choose them because, at there age, they are more emotionally and physically immature and are easier to manipulate. 

 These children are sent on suicide missions and sometimes forced to commit atrocities against their own family and neighbors  They are used as cooks, porters, guards, messengers, and spies. They are also usually raped and given to military commanders as sex slaves.  They are abducted, forcefully recruited or personally decide to enroll for either: survival, protection or for vengeance. child soldiers is a form of child labor and a violation of human rights and a war crimes

 The ILO is an organization that works with the government, one of there efforts is to put an end to child recruitment, and release children from armed forces and group.  The international rescue committee (irc) is also helping with the child soldiers problem by providing immediate protection, health care and critical emotional support to children who have been demobilized or have escaped from armed forces. The IRC also helps integrate the children back into communities, find or give them families an help them with mental problems. This group also helps the schools in the communities to help and deal with the children.
