IKBFU HISTORY: FROM KÖNIGSBERG TO KALININGRAD MILESTONEPERIOD 1 Duke Albrecht Hohenzollern opened the Koenigsberg University. 17 August1544 1аThe University was named "Albertina" after its founder Kaliningrad State Teacher Training Institute was opened in Kaliningrad Due to the enlargement of its educational area the Institute was transformed into the Kaliningrad State University Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University being one of innovative universities in Russia, strives for preserving and adding to academic traditions of its predecessors. The following renowned figures as J.G. Hamann, J.G. Herder, F.W. Bessel, C.G. Jacobi, F. Lindemann, A. Hurwitz, D. Hilbert, F. Helmholtz, I. Kant taught or delivered lectures at Albertina; K.
