Objective: Learn to multiply and divide integers
If you multiply two integers with the same sign, you just have to multiply and the answer will always be positive. For Example: 6(10) = 60 -6(-10)= 60 If you divide two integers with the same sign, you just divide and the answer will always be positive. For Example: 60 ÷ 6 = ÷ - 6 = 10
When multiplying integers with different signs, you just multiply and the answer will always be negative. For example: 11(-4) = (4) = -44 When dividing integers with different signs, you just divide and the answer will always be negative. For example: -14 ÷ 7 = ÷ ( -7) = -2
If you have an even amount of negative signs, you may multiply or divide and the answer will always be positive. For example: (-6)(3)(-10) = 100 ÷ (-5) ÷ (-2) = If you have an odd amount of negative signs, you may multiply or divide and the answer will always be negative. For example: (-5)(-3)(-2) = -50 ÷ 5 ÷ 2 =
When multiplying or dividing Integers: + + = (+) - - = (+) same signs = positive answer + - = ( - ) - + = ( - ) different signs = negative answer When Multiplying or Dividing more than 2 Integers: An even number of negative signs will give you a positive answer. An odd number of negative signs will give you an negative answer.
