+ Learning Fractions with M&M’s by: Ms. Rosario

+ What is a Fraction? When an object is divided into a number of equal parts then each part is called a fraction. There are three different types of fractions, but we will just be learning about proper fractions today. There are TWO parts of a fraction. The NUMERATOR and the DENOMINATOR.

+ Do Not Eat the M&M’s on your desk! Remain seated in your seats as I locate everyone in their groups. Once placed in your group, you will sit quietly and listen to the following directions: Choose one person in your group to come to Ms. Rosario and collect the plastic cups you will be using in your activity. With the plastic cups you will scoop a bunch of M&M’s from your baskets, and then count the total amount you collected. Then you will be able to complete the M&M worksheet. Now I will call on you randomly to put your answers from the worksheet on to the SMART BOARD!

+ NOW YOU CAN EAT THE M&M’S GREAT JOB!
