DonorsChoose.org is a nonprofit organization that connects public school teachers in need of classroom materials and experiences with individual donors who want to help. What Is DonorsChoose.org?

 Since 2000, DonorsChoose.org has made possible over 50,000 projects in 45,000 classrooms.  In 2007 – 2008, DonorsChoose.org delivered $11 million in resources to classrooms.  In 2008 – 2009, DonorsChoose.org aims to more than double that amount, delivering $25 million in resources to classrooms. Does it Work? Yes.

How Does It Work?

 A public school teacher has an idea for a classroom project that requires supplies and materials for students.

 The teacher writes a project request, detailing how the materials will be used by students, and submits it to DonorsChoose.org.

Individuals can then search through teachers’ projects by topic, region, and price.
