Scope draft-rosen-ecrit-ecall-10 describes Internet Protocol-based In-Vehicle Emergency Call – support for WG adoption draft-jesske-ecrit-ecall-urn-extension-01 discusses Format of service URN – Requirements from 3GPP – Compatibility of existing deployments IETF87, July 28 – Aug 2, 2013draft-jesske-ecrit-ecall-urn-extension-012

Current implementation within mobile networks in conformance with 3GPP TS " Principles of Circuit telecommunication services supported by a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN)". describes requirements for Mobile networks implementing emergency services. Requirements in TS :... It shall be possible to initiate emergency calls to different emergency call centres, depending on the type of emergency. The following types of emergency calls shall be possible: Police, Ambulance, Fire Brigade, Marine Guard, Mountain Rescue, Manually Initiated eCall (MIeC) and Automatically Initiated eCall (AIeC)...It shall be possible to tie any emergency call number to any single emergency call type or to any combination of emergency call types.... Deployments are existing where combinations of call types are used. IETF87, July 28 – Aug 2, 2013draft-jesske-ecrit-ecall-urn-extension-013
