The 10 Commandments are rules, not guides. Discuss. NO – they are also guides The rules do imply attitudes “honour…”, “do not desire..” This implies respect and greed, even if not named as such. So they are not a so much “rules” as attitude- changers They are specific about what to do – but they can be applied/ understood in different ways. Eg… YES – they are only rules They don’t mention attitudes like forgiveness or honesty. They are things God orders us to do/ not do. “You shall not…” So they are rules. They are very specific about how to behave – so they must be rules eg.. Overall, I think the Ten Commandments are rules/ guides because..
