Why Join Pre-Vet Club?

The Mission of the Pre-Vet Club Create a community of animal-lovers Serve as a resource for information on veterinary careers and other animal careers, and expose members to different fields through speakers Take trips to various institutions, businesses and practices that may be of interest to members Provide opportunities for leadership Assist with scheduling, planning and surviving at Gettysburg and beyond To be involved in the community in a way that provides hands-on experience with animals To have fun, bond, and develop a strong group of students with similar interests!

What We Do: Small Animal Veterinarians Food Animal Veterinarians Equine Veterinarians Current Vet Students Animal Control Officers Animal Nutritionists Meat Market Industry Workers Highlights on students’ internships Skye Terrier Breeders Rabbit Breeders Fundraisers for the SPCA Trip to East Coast Exotic Animal Rescue Trip to the Baltimore Zoo Trip to the Baltimore Aquarium Visits to alpaca, cat, and dog shows (respectively) Tours of local vet hospitals Trips to local dairy farms In the last few years, the club has offered the following speakers and activities:

How to Get Involved Come to meetings, speakers and events Share your ideas- if you want to go somewhere, hear about something specific or do something- we will set it up! Make friends with others in the group! Volunteer to hold a position, head a committee or start a fundraiser Club Dues are $5- one time fee (Mail Box 1351) Access to our internships and ride alongs Official “Active Member” status (and your name on the webpage!) Possibility of going to Symposium To qualify for Symposium, you must continue to be active in the club: i.e. you must attend at least 5 meetings, speakers or events over the course of each semester
