Motion graphics Motion Graphics are graphics that use video footage or animation technology to create the illusion of motion or a transforming appearance. This is generally used to make the film more pleasing visually.

Compositing video Compositing video is done once all the film footage is shot. This is when you can manipulate certain things such as the text, framing, digital effects and more.

TV shows Walking dead opening sequence This consists primarily of pictures and text but cuts into live action a few times. This is one of the most simple opening sequences that I could find. It could even be made relatively easily using After effects. It is clear that ambient occlusion was used in this video. o o

Adverts Old spice advert ‘Questions’. This entire video was shot on green screen. At approximately 20 seconds into the video you could see the man dive, this illusiob was possible because he was attached to a string. 0kE 0kE

Computer games (Gta San Andreas) The program CGI is usually used in game trailers in order to make the graphics look good. 7s 7s The real game play graphics are a lot worse than this.

TV ident Channel 4 ident QFw QFw Making this involved filming the estate then creating the shapes seperatly and filming them on the green screen. This is a prime example of motion graphics

Music video Not afraid Eminem This video is definitely shot on green screen as we can see Eminem standing on the edge of a skyscraper and walking right through traffic. We see eminem standing at the end of the world, Another prime example of motion graphics.

Opening sequence (Not film) 3-TEDxEdges 3-TEDxEdges This gives the audience the illusion that the letters are made from blocks of glass. Would have been made using 3d software such as Maya.

Internet banner ad If you go onto YouTube you will usually find an internet banner ad right in front of you. These are usually constructed using flash. Green screens are often used and are necessary if you would like to say for instance give the viewer the illusion that Tony Blair is walking on mars. The pixel dimension should be 720x180.
