Review of the test results and plan for the final TC ESR 5 ELENI ADAMIDI IASA, NTUA SUPERVISOR: PROF.EVANGELOS GAZIS WORK PACKAGE 3: SAFETY SYSTEM MODULARITY TECHNICAL MEETING AT CERN 23TH OF JUNE 2015

Review of the 1 st Testing Campaign results Everything was completed according to the plan A. General setup of the server, HW and SW. B. Data Acquisition System (DAQ). C. Control System (CS). D. EDUSAFE User Interface of the Supervision System (EDUSS), both for Desktop and iPad. 2 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015

A. Setup of EDUSAFE Server SW&HW EDUSAFE Supermicro Desktop server setup was successfully completed. OS: Xubuntu GNU/Linux distribution SW Oracle Data Base, SQL Developer. DAQ Server EDUSS Integration with EPFL code. SW dependencies (for ex. : OpenCV, Eigen, ArUco) PCI Frame Grabber SW Documentation available HW Epiphan DVI2PCIe Frame Grabber Installation. 3 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015

B. DAQ Server Sensor Data Acquisition Tested the acquisition of all the sensor data with the final HW that was completed by ESR6, Fasiul Alam. Acquired through TCP and received in JSON format from the DAQ System of the server. Each JSON message that the server receives has a time stamp: {"Time":"03/12/ :17:21", Value...}, with a sampling rate every 5s. The sensor values acquired through the DAQ Server are displayed in EDUSS supervision GUI and are properly saved in the Oracle DB. 4 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015

B. Video Acquisition-Mobile Prototype 1 Acquire the video over the network via UDP using Gstreamer: - for storing the video - for converting it in mjpg format and stream in another port for EDUSS GUI. Tested video acquisition in the ATLAS cavern (USA15) with ESR3. The results are properly shown in EDUSS supervision GUI. See video link.video link HW: Mobile prototype 1, Epiphan DVI2PCI frame grabber installed on the server. SW: Xubuntu GNU/Linux distribution, GStreamer , v4l2loopback , OpenCV 2.4.9, cvlc. 5 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015

C. Control System Alarms test. In case a measurement exceeds a certain threshold an alarm is created. The alarms on the CS are triggered automatically depending on the defined thresholds (UP Value and DOWN Value). Audio Server Setup. PBX server, audio communication between the supervised person and the supervisor. Send dose measurements to AR GUI (Yuta) using Filter Encoder that creates an outport (filterport) in order to provide the value of the Dose Rate and Dose Accum during the acquisition process without the need to access the Database. The values are sent to the AR GUI through TCP in JSON format. 6 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015

D. EDUSAFE Supervision System- GUI (EDUSS) both for PC and iPad. GWT intefaces, Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Highcharts along with several web-developer tools such as Bootstrap (useful for iPad). ¹ In this image the radiation measurements (Dose Accum, Dose Rate) are not corresponding to real environmental measurements (PTUsimulator). 7 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015

PhD Status Graduate Courses: Data Mining Algorithms (ece1331) -Mining Data Streams Information Systems (System Adaptation) NTUA, school of electrical and computer engineering Supervisors: Prof.Evangelos Gazis, Prof.Kostantina Nikita Division of Communication, Electronic and Information Engineering 23th of June 2015TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN 9

Plan for the final TC A. Server Setup  New HW? B. DAQ  Need for new sensor?  DB : We are currently storing: Sensor Data, Video Streams Question: What do we need to store more and why? (IMU data, Pose estimation) C. CS  We are currently creating local alerts (only in EDUSS) D. EDUSS UI Question: Do we need any further modifications (Desktop and tablet)? 10 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015

Thank you! 11 TECHNICAL MEETING_CERN23th of June 2015
