How SRE benefits children in school

How SRE benefits students SRE helps children explore their spiritual questions – questions that parents and classroom teachers often feel ill-equipped to answer.

How SRE benefits students SRE teachers are generally passionate volunteers motivated out of deep conviction and foundational values. That’s something worth modelling to children!

SRE - benefits to students SRE gives children the opportunity to explore the Christian ethos and values on which much of Australian society was built.

SRE - benefits to students A knowledge of Bible stories enriches a child’s knowledge and understanding of English language, art and literature.

SRE - benefits to students The words of the Bible are heard on Anzac Day, at funerals and weddings. They are known to bring comfort and challenge. SRE is one of the few places that children systematically encounter the Bible.

SRE - benefits to students SRE teachers are often older and bring a valuable perspective on life for children who have little contact with the older generation.

How SRE benefits students SRE gives children tools to help in time of crisis which helps build resilience.

How SRE benefits students SRE gives children tools to help in time of crisis - like prayer and words of comfort from the Bible - which helps build resilience.

How SRE benefits students SRE contributes to Key Learning areas of the curriculum.

How SRE benefits students SRE encourages moral development and spirituality.

SRE - benefits to students Most parents want their children to choose whether or not they will live by faith when they are ‘old enough to decide’. SRE gives them a good overview of basic beliefs to help them make that decision.
