Migraine JENNA GALLAGHER

What is a migraine?  A recurring throbbing headache that typically affects one side of the head and is often accompanied by nausea and disturbed vision.  A migraine was recorded in the medical documents of the ancient Egyptians in 1200 B.C.E. It appears that migraines are among the oldest disease known to man kind.

What are the symptoms?  Chills  Increased urination  Fatigue  Loss of appetite  Nausea and vomiting  Numbness, tingling, or weakness  Sensitivity to light and sound  Problems concentrating

What are the causes?  The most common reason for one to have a migraine headache is the physiological triggers such as food, stress, and hormonal changes.

What are current treatments?  Pain relief medications  Preventive medications  Triptans  Ergots  Opioid medications  Glucocorticoids  Cardiovascular drugs  Antidepressants

Current research…  The migraine research foundation raises money to fund innovative migraine research. No one knows the main cause of migraines and what can be done to cure it. However, MRF is a organization to help find the cure!
