Hardware Input Devices For each of my three computers I will have a mouse, keyboard, and for two computers a printer as well. The web cams and video card will be connected to the computer in the owners’ office. Network Our network will be a client /server network because that way the host computer in the owner’s office will be able to control the others. This way they can only connect to others if the owner wants them too

Hardware Output Devices For all three computers, a printer/copier/fax will be connected, as well as three plasma 19” monitors and speakers for the office only. Storage A removable hard disk will be assigned to each computer that will hold the information on back up.

Software Word Processing Microsoft Word- This will be used to create Letters and memos for employees and clients as well as the Groomer and Vet’s I have as partners. Spreadsheets Microsoft Excel- this will be use for inventory, employee scheduling, gross income, outputs and inputs. Database Base Portal Web Database- This can be used to manage my webpage and employee, suppliers’ directories.

Software Web Design Microsoft Frontpage- I enjoy creating web pages and this will have everything about Claws and Paws. Communication The company will be connected to the internet so we can use , update the webpage and remind customers of their appointments.

Data Employees All employee data will be stored in the computer as well as the owners office, this will have their personal information, start date, all disciplinary actions and rewards. Customers Customer data will also be stored in the main computer system for easy contact; this information will not include, bank accounts, SSN, or credit card numbers, that way we do not assume the risks. All we need is their phone numbers, vet phone numbers and records for each pet, and of course their address. The information on their pets will include allergies, likes/dislikes, pictures’ of the pet and preferred employees of the pet.

Data Equipment This business is not really technology based so I will have one CPU in my office, a desktop with reasonable memory and access to fast internet. There will be two CPU’s in the lobby to check in pets, pay for services, book stays and check room availability. Acer Veriton® M410 Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 PC USB Webcam

Procedures Normal Operating For our normal operating procedures we will use Windows XP until a suitable alternative arises. Back Up All information will be saved in five locations daily, online at a database, my home computer, a pocket drive that will be kept on site and in the cottage on the property, lastly paper files will be stored at a storage facility (these items will be dropped off weekly). Failure In the event of a Computer failure the company will consult an IST company and recover the files from other locations.
