* Old age * Smoking * Genes * Alcohol * Exposure to radiation * Chemical pollution * Viruses

* Wear sunscreen * Avoid alcohol, smoking and drugs * Eat a balanced diet * Regular doctor visits

Body does not combat cancer cells until it is too late to prevent the cells from mutating.

* Second most common form of female reproductive system cancer * The most common is epithelial ovarian cancer * Affects cells in the ovaries * 95% recovery rate * It affects about one out of every fifty-five women

* Majority of cases occur in women between the ages of forty and seventy-nine. Women who... * Have had breast, uterine, or colorectal cancer. * Have an Eastern European Jewish background. * Have never given birth or have had trouble getting pregnant. * Have endometriosis

* Jewish women are most likely because their gene pool is very small * Women who have endometriosis are most likely because the disease and cancer have the same triggers.

* The most notable sign of ovarian cancer is swelling in the abdomen * Abnormal bleeding between periods may occur * Abdominal or pelvic pain * Frequent urge to urinate * Digestion problems

The most common treatments for ovarian cancer are surgery and chemotherapy. At times, radiation therapy is also used.
